I'd like to cast my vote for an Android version.

I use a Nexus S, iPod Touch 4G and iPad. Being able to use Air Video on all my platforms would be great!

Thanks for a great App!

I to would like to throw in my vote for an Android Versoin of this.
I am getting an Adam From NotionInk and this would be a great addition.
I would happily pay 29.99 for the Android version.

been a long time still a fan of airvideo given all there great work on ios
the new google specs for android 3.0 just came out i was reading through and saw this
HTTP Live streaming

Applications can now pass an M3U playlist URL to the media framework to begin an HTTP Live streaming session. The media framework supports most of the HTTP Live streaming specification, including adaptive bit rate.
i know this is what is used on the ios side of things so hopefully it's the http live streaming we need in order to get it going on the android os side to make a more integrated applications for android similar to airvideo for ios
link for details about the new android sdk: http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-3.0-highlights.html

but till an android version of airvideo is released i've been checking out subsonic the newest version has implemented video support it works pretty well if you are using android 2.2 and have flash installed. Its worth checking out if you are really looking into an airvideo alternative.

Today I just find a new android app called "Qloud Video Free" that seems to do the same work as Air Video, it works great over WiFi, but not so good over 3G network.

My phone is Nexus One 2.2, my sister's is Nexus S 2.3.2 and it works much better over 3G, maybe Qloud Video use Http Live on 2.3 device?

Since Air Video is still not available on Android, anyone who don't want to wait may give it a try.

I'm afraid Air Video devs are going to lose out on a lot of $$ from Android users if they don't come up with something soon! Especially with all these tablets coming out.

I would like to toss my request for android support as well.
Air Video has been the only app that I really miss since switching from Iphone to Android.
I am using another App, but its not as clean or useful.

Can we get ANY sort of acknowledgement by the Air Video guys? Just want to know if I'm hoping and hoping and in the end, it won't matter anyway.

It's been mentioned here many times, unless Android gets solid live http streaming protocol support the Air Video port is very unlikely.

HTTP Live Streaming was added in Android 3.0 so maybe we'll see some support now: http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-3.0-highlights.html#multimedia

There's a new app for android that does http live streaming surprisingly well: mirage

http://www.appbrain.com/app/mirage-beta/com.bw.xplayer.ui

It's only a matter of time before someone writes an android client that talks to the air video server and passes the streaming urls to 3rth party players like this.
Let's hope it's the official Airvideo team
