I fear Apple knocked out this ability permanently to pave the way for the new Apple TV just announced.

I'd be surprised to see this functionality approved to return. I'm sure they'd cite reasoning as 'duplicates a function offered in iOS' (streaming from iTunes to a iPod/Pad/Phone for viewing on TV)

It's a dern shame, and I hope I am not right.

Hating the game,

Well
Updated my phone, from 3GS Ios 4.01 to Iphone 4 ios 4.01, and with my Iphone 4 the TV out function works perfectly.

What's the difference then?

Anyone from Air Video care to respond?

Hi Admin,

Any word on when this new version looks like hitting the App Store?

Also, just above, a forum member claims that the TV Out works on an Iphone 4 with IOS 4.01. Can you confirm this?

Cheers

Video out works for me. Thanks!

8gb third generation iPod Touch.

Now if we could only get Netflix to support video out...

I think my third generation 8gb iPod Touch is really just a repackaged second generation unit. If so, yes. I'm running the latest version of iOS and it works.

I updated both the app and the server program. However, TV Out does not work for me. Could be one of two things:

- Jailbreak
- Unofficial cable: http://indashpc.org/new/accessories/cable-av30.html

Since my brother has a non-jailbroken iPhone 4 + the same cable as me and for him it's not working either, I'm going to assume the cable is the problem. Weird, because on the site where I bought it, it says it will work with all firmware versions: http://indashpc.org/new/accessories/cable-av30.html

Any thoughts, admin?

EDIT: I got it to work! Don't know how, though. I installed a TV-Out app from Cydia which didn't quite work as it should, so I unistalled it again. After that, everything worked fine. Maybe I just needed to reboot my iPhone, that's what I did before I uninstalled the Cydia app.

Anyhoo, thanks a lot for the update!
