was wondering when you guys will add support to accents in subtitles Portuguese Brazil ?

You need to go to Air Video Server properties, Subtitles Tab and chose the encoding to whatever your subtitles use.

Portuguese but I put in the letters that have accents is a point (?)

You need to select the proper encoding. I'm not sure what encoding is used in Brazil.

You can try the Western European encodings, some of them should work.

well that´s not working... I live in Sweden and I have tested difrent encoders I even tested to change the subtitle font and that without any effect
Like a standy user of AirVideo I have to say that AirVideo shall be beter with the funktion of encoding subtitels!! It´s a mess with the sub

if anyone has got it to work whith the subtitles please let me know ..

Olá. O que você tem que fazer é abrir a legenda SRT no bloco de notas. Lá clique em Salvar Como e mude a codificação para UTF-8 e salve. Pronto, agora funcionará perfeitamente. Isso acontece porque a legenda PT-BR vem codificada em ANSI e o Air Video não suporta esta codificação.


You just have to open the SRT file with notepad and go to Save as then change the encoding to UTF-8. Now should work. PT-BR subs comes with ANSI encoding.

Ansi is another name for Windows 1252 = Western (Windows Latin 1) in Air Video
I'm not sure why this wouldn't work

Yes, it works!

The problem is many people don't know that Western (Windows Latin 1) = ANSI.

Me too, I didn't knew until you post it here. After that I changed to Windows 1252 and did a test with some SRTs in ANSI and now they works fine!

I added ANSI to encoding name. Should show in next server release.
