Yeah, I would like to donate as well! I love this product and want to show my support .

Where can I donate?

Also, is it possible to add in the next version the ability to view .srt (subtitles) WITHOUT converting the video (kinda like a passthrough mode)? This would be a much desired feature! Thanks!

Sorry, no donations currently. Subtitles without transcoding will be possible.

I recently suffered through the Java issues and just recently installed Oracle Java 7 v13 so I could run Java on my Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 MacBook Pro. I had to rebuild my system and the regular Air Video Server wanted me to install Apple's SE 6 Java which Lion blocks so I installed this beta. So far, so good. Seems to play videos from my MBPro to my iPhone seamlessly like the original version also used to do. Good work on the update to the server sw.

Hi,

the latest server beta doesn't need Oracle or System JRE on Mac.

I'd like to know when the next version will come too! Still waiting for webm support and offline file copying! The competitors have it! Why doesn't Air Video?!

Maybe because copying files offline directly to the ipad over wifi would take forever?

Are you just assuming this without ever using this functionality on other services? This is incredibly handy and works very well.

So how long would a 300-400mb file take to copy over wifi? Too long Id say. it would take hrs if you were copying say 5-10 300-400mb files over

Id much prefer using usb for copying large files.

usb 2.0....... 32mb/s
wifi.......... about 2 -5mb/s

Pretty sure my fully transcoded 1080p movies Sync over wifi with PlexSync in about 10-15 mins, max.

It's not really too long, it depends on the router though. Device that supports 5GHz can also help. I was testing download it for the upcoming new version and it is quite usable, especially when you convert and transcode at the same time.

I think "convert" and "transcode" are commonly used interchangeably. How are you defining/differentiating them? Transcoding is always a type of conversion so presumably the inverse isn't true?

Sorry, I meant convert and download. I.e. when the movie is being converted while it is being downloaded.
