Hello.
I see, there already has been a topic about problems with navigating through large folders. I don't have any problems with server side, but every time I exit to the file list from file description page, the file list seem to reload automatically (I can see it by unactive "Reload" button), and during this time the client freezes. In large folders, this reloading takes more than 10 seconds, all this time the client app is frozen.
The question is - can you add an option to disable these automatic reloads?

Hi,

I'm not sure if disabling refresh is the best idea. I have never seen the client froze on when entering the file list. How big is your folder? How many items are videos and how many are folders? What iPhone device do you have?

What I propose is to disable refresh of file list when going out of opened item page - when you go back, the list already is loaded, but then it's forced to refresh. Basically, imagine the situation:
1. You're done with watching some video, and you want to watch another one from the same folder.
2. You press back button. The file list appears.
3. Now, for about 1/2 sec., you can select the desired file from the list (if you're fast enough). If you're not, the list starts refreshing, and the app is unresponsive for some time. You have to wait until it's finished reloading before you can select other file.
As for navigating through folders, there's no need to disable refresh, of course.
The argument against reloading, at least for me, is that while I'm using AirVideo, I don't touch my PC, so nothing changes in file list during that time. If I'm confident that there was a change, I can use refresh button.
I have iPodTouch 1G; latest OS version. As for file numbers - I just tried the folder with ~10 files in it, and even there, freezing occur, and it's about 2 seconds long. And in another folder, where I have 690 files (all videos), every reloading is a disaster

I see. iPod touch 1G is the slowest device so the reloading is probably quite obvious.
We will probably disable reloading when returning to folder in 2.1.3 (2.1.2 has already been submitted for review).
