Air Video Client for Windows: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10205542/AirVideoClient_win32_20110531.zip
(Implemented with airvideo.rb + mingw32-ruby-1.9.2-p180 + wxruby-2.0.1 + ocra-1.2.0 and .NET framework 4)
Requirements: Windows XP or later and .NET framework 4. If you are using Air Video Server 2.4.3, download Elecard AVC HD Player (trial version), and locate the player in the client app. For Air Video Server 2.4.5beta users, locate a VLC media player in the app. TCP port 8008 must be opened for live re-streaming proxy.

Have installed .net 4, have installed latest VLC cleint. can not get anything to work. when I click on the AIRVIDEOCLIENT icon nothing happens.

Same problem here. Windows 7 x64 with SP1 .NET 4 installed.

Yo! Everyone, move to airplayit server. its completely free!!!, in the sense of full access to all folders and files, they have a premium option for extra features conversion/download tbh not entirely sure what extra features it has, but the free version operates and looks like airvideo. works perfecltly on all platforms, they have android client too. as for desktop use, you can goto the ip addr:37218 to access a list of files, basic html page, which contains links for viewing etc, files open nicely in VLC. this could then be adapted to a nice GUI if anyone's got the time, i havent got the time atm, but if no one creates it then i'll be on the process in creating one.

oooh quick note, for desktop use, select try direct play as it will load faster and less jumpy

http://www.airplayit.com/

cheers enjoy!

I just came from using Air Playit and it does not work "perfectly". I was able to stream over every network that I used, but after a few hrs after setting it up, I could no longer access it without having to go to the source computer and reset a few options (no go when your out and about).

But what I did enjoy about it was the fact that it created that basic web page with links to your files. Thats all that really needs to happen to have this wonderful client preform for everyone.

Add me to the list!

I would happily donate to help contribute to the development of Windows or Android Air Video applications.

No matter if the video is in other formats, Air Video streams almost all formats on iPhone and iPads. I love to send my petition towards the development of Air Video Stream software.

Air Video Client for Windows: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10205542/AirVideoClient_win32_20111218.zip
Requirements: Windows XP or later. For live conversion, .NET framework 4 is required, and if you are using Air Video Server 2.4.3, download Elecard AVC HD Player (trial version), and locate the player in the client app. For Air Video Server 2.4.5beta users, locate a VLC media player in the app. TCP port 8008 must be opened for live re-streaming proxy.

[03/22/2011] Re-implemented by wxRuby
[03/25/2011] Mod for Ruby 1.9. HTTPLiveStreamingProxy is now isolated from the client app.
[03/28/2011] Playing with live conversion is now available on Windows XP or later with Elecard AVC HD Player.
[03/29/2011] Tests on pseudo-seek during live conversion.
[03/31/2011] Now compatible with AirVideo Server 2.4.5beta (playback/livePlayback-2.4).
[04/01/2011] Fixed wrong live playback starting points, etc.
[04/03/2011] HTTPLiveStreamingProxy was re-written by C#, which resulted in less memory usage. Add manual bitrate selection / recording buttons.
[04/07/2011] Fixed live conversion request method (now all movies could be played by live conversion)
[04/07/2011] Abort the development because much better solution has been found. See pavram's post on 5th Apr 2011.
[05/31/2011] Temporal fix of encoding problems (UTF8-MAC) on AirVideo Server 2.4.5beta6 Mac
[12/18/2011] Context menus for sorting options were added for my personal use. Recompiled with Ruby 193p0 and Ocra 1.3.

Thanks for this, where's airvideo.rb?

[edit: nevermind, I guess it's here https://github.com/jphastings/AirVideo/blob/master/lib/airvideo.rb]

how do you connect the server once you fire up the client? It asks for Server Address and password? How do I find my server address?

I too would be more than happy to pay for a Mac client. Are there really no plans for such a thing? It seems bizarre that I can stream video to an iPhone but not a macbook which has a much larger screen and much more resources. Heck, I'd even chip in for a kickstarter project to have one developed.
