The service is up and running. If you get the message it means that your provider blocks port 1112.

URL Resolver down.

I was watching video, it froze. Rebooted iPad, Server. Confirmed accessible by localhost:port in browser and remoteip:port in browser.

Per trouble shooting, contacting for support as this appears to be an issue on Air Video's end, not on my ISP, device, or server.

[UPDATE] Issue appears to be resolved now (about 1.5 hours after first occurred). Not sure what happened but all seems well now.

Hi all,

Having issues with this.

Pc confirms that server is reachable through Internet. Has worked fine whenever this message is displayed, for years. Now this confirmation has no bearing on whether or not it is accessible from iPad or iPhone over the Internet. Some devices get the message server not reachable, others work fine.

Any idea?

Is this the port AirVideo uses to determine the external IP, and if so, does it use tcp or udp?

I have a VPN tunnel setup on my router, so I have 2 external addresses (1 from the ISP, and one from the VPN endpoint). I'm using static port-forwarding, but AirVideo always detects the wrong external IP.

2013-02-28 12:53:18 StatusReportAction: Submitting status report:

2013-02-28 12:53:19 StatusReportAction: Scheduling task StatusReportAction$1 (24453483)

Using iptables, I'm able to successfully route ports to the appropriate external address. So far I have determined the following possibilities for AirVideo:

45631 tcp Airvideo
1112 ??? AirVideo
1900 udp Bonjour
5350 udp Bonjour
5351 udp Bonjour
5353 udp Bonjour

Any others that I'm missing?

Hi,

I don't think Air Video can work through VPN (at least not without special routing setup). It detects your VPN external IP address, because all traffic is routed through the VPN. There is no way Air Video Server can know your "real" IP address. Your best bet would probably be to use dyndns and manually add the domain to client, assuming the server will be able to handle incoming request with VPN turned on (which I'm not sure about).

I'm not trying to route AirVideo through a VPN. I'm looking for an all inclusive list of ports and protocols that AirVideo uses so that I can build correct iptables policies routing all of that traffic through the ISP's public interface. I'm just looking for a better understanding of how AirVideo is determining the external address. I assume it's contacting an external server which is then returning the IP it was contacted from, I just need to know what port/protocol it's using, so that I can make sure it's routed to the appropriate interface on the router.

Thanks,
Admin

Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. So, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. To secure, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
322756 How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

To resolve this problem, use the following troubleshooting procedures:
Start the Registry Editor (regedt32.exe), and then confirm that the following registry key is present:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ RemoteAccess \ RouterManagers \ IP
If this registry key is present, verify that it contains the following three values:
Value name: DLLPath
Data Type: REG_EXPAND_SZ
Valuable data:% SystemRoot% \ System32 \ Iprtrmgr.dll
Value name: GlobalInfo
Data type: REG_BINARY
Value of data: different data between computers
Value name: ProtocolID
Data type: REG_DWORD
Valuable data: 0x21 (hexadecimal)
If the registry keys and values are described in step 1 exists, verify that Iprtrmgr.dll located in the specified path.
If the file exists and the path is correct, reinstall the modem:
Disable the service routing and remote access.
Use the device manager to uninstall the modem.
Restart the server and wait for the plug-and-play process to redetect the modem.
Service allows the routing and remote access.
If the problem is not resolved after you reinstall the modem, remove and reinstall the Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP / IP).
Start the remote registry service if it does not work:
Click start, click run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
Locate the remote registry service in the right pane.
Right-click the service, and then click start.

It's a great product, but maybe it would be better if you notified users or potential users of a couple of things up front so you have a happy user base.... I'm not one happy user today, but....

1. Not only shuts down local access on "sleep," but you have to reset either iPad or desktop to get it going again.
2. Most (and I would imagine you want a lot of people to buy this product, don't know Double NAT/Bridge from Adam, so you might want to be clear that this only works locally (if you're computer never sleeps, unless you can open a port on a Mac....which is not easy.

Good luck you guys....

I am having a problem with a new windows 8 Computer and Air Video working. It worked on the old computer and it works on another computer on the same network. Error message is "No UPnP or NAT-PMP compatible devices found" So the router is working fine.

Thanks

Concerning the Double NAT problem I have to say I struggled
somewhat because the modem from my ISP was reset to
router mode but changing the modem to bridge mode solved
everything. The modem is connected to a Netgear R6300.
Works like I charm but you should add info under double Nat section
about bridge mode for ISP modem.

Thanks
