1. Love support for TS_Folders so that I do not have to handbrake all my movies just for Air Video.

2. Love to have it pull info from IMDB for info and cover art on the movies. So that you could do a cover flow type of interface.

3. +1 for the Single Server Entry, so that App figures out if to use Internet or Local connection.

4. +1 for "I request AirVideo makes me ice cream and chicken wings on demand."

This is the most amazing video streaming app i have seen. That said, a few things that would make this the end all be all app is music support and photo support.

imagine an app where you can access all of your multimedia from. Only running one server from your pc and not 2 or 3 for music/photos/video streaming on the go. You could charge 3x the price too and people would buy it.

Please add support for MPAA ratings. I'd like to give kids access to PG rated movies via iPod touch, iPhone, etc...

The way it works now if i share my video library, they'll have access to all of it, which won't work.

I think Air Video needs to implement Unicode support, for example, Chinese Characters.

I found that I could play the video with Chinese name normally, but when I tried to add it to itunes, I can't see it.
So I tried something in English name, and it worked..

Wouldn't a much easier way be for you to put all your kid friendly movies into a specific folder and share that?

Oh or maybe Airvideo could add in a password system where you could nominate which folders required passwords?

If I put the kid friendly stuff in a folder and only share that, then I can't view my content, and I'm stuck watching Nanny McPhee. Also, this makes a mess out of my Media Server environment, for viewing content on the TV via PS3 and Xbox. I use Media Browser, and that supports MPAA ratings so everything is located in a unified folder structure. If I have to implement passwords per folder, then I'd have to go and manually add which folders are accessible.....way to much work!

If the video meta data already includes MPAA ratings, then it would be much easier to assign a PIN number to each kid. That way I could assign approved rating levels per PIN and share everything....much simpler.

Hey all

I'll love to when a file is converted u will have the ability to download the converted file to your iphone/ipod/ipad.
Since i have a ipod i don't have internet everywhere so it comes in handy when i can convert a video @ school and download so i can see it in the subway to home.

Ty and hoping this will be an option soon!

I would like a server option to copy the file prior to conversion / streaming to a specific location.

Have a usb hdd attached to eee pc installed in vehicle which has a spin down time of 10 secs after inactivity. If there was a prefetch before conversion option the hdd data would xfer to the internal ssd reducing hdd activity / shock damage / power drain.

Would be great for cross country trips / high capacity SSD per gig pricing is going to be crazy for a while. The ipad and ipod touch with airvideo a far superior alternative to any in car dvd / entertainment system I can think of.

sorry if this has been addressed already, done a few searches on forum and turned nothing up.

great product.

regards.

Just found Air Video, and it's a great app. Only been trying it for a few hours, and already I have a couple of feature requests. If these have already been discussed, my apologies; I didn't find anything in searches.

1. UPnP support. It would be great to be able to stream from a UPnP enabled NAS, with no need for a PC or server software.

2. Support ISO containers. This too would be a great addition, IMO, at least!

Thanks,
Jack

Thanks for this application, easily worth the money, there is one thing though that would make it the #1 video application over the air by far, and that's playing from rar archives, because I'm kinda not that happy to have to RDP/VNC to a server, extract the video and then watch it, and then often forget about the file and then it's wasting space.

So please, my only request is rar archive playback.

EDIT: Heck, just a button that allows you to unrar the archives inside the Air Video program would suffice, just as long as one don't have to RDP/VNC/SSH more into servers to do it "manually".

Would be nice if you re-added the feature to continue playback after the screen is locked (by enabling playback controls by pressing home twice)

I would love to see commercial skip support. I am a sage user and all my sage recordings have edl files that specify where the commercials are. When I encode ipod formatted video from them, I encode the commercials as chapter marks so that by skipping ahead to the next chapter mark, I skip the commercial.

Including WOL and the ability to sleep/hibernate/shutdown the computer with the server software on it from the app would be great.

I know it's been said before, but just wanted to add my "+1" for audio support.

I'd love to use this application (or a similar one that you make - Air Music?!) for audio. Happy to pay a bit more for an updated iPhone client- just want to have something to replace Simplify Media.

Air Video already supports UPnP.

What do you think converts the video to playback on the iPhone? The Nas drive is nowhere near powerfull enough to convert videos yet alone HD videos. That is why you need a pc application.

ISO containers would be cool.
