Thanks for the prompt reply...
Just like to find out if the live conversion lives behind files on ur iphone when it streams media onto your iphone? If so, what happens to the partial files if i watch the video halfway for live conversion?

There are no partial files created during live conversion.

I seem to be having a problem with one file in particular. The movie plays fine with the live encoding, but when doing offline encoding it errors immediately and creates a ~2kb sized m4v file. I've also tested with 2.1.7 and it seems to work fine in offline conversion, so it's just an error with 2.1.8.

Air Video Server 2.1.8-beta9r2 seems to have broken Air Video on my Windows 7 x64 machine. I was using 2.1.8-beta8, which worked fine until I replaced it with beta9r2. Now AVS no longer shows up in the notification area, although it still appears in Task Manager.

Worse yet, I can no longer connect with Air Video on the iPhone; it just says "Loading" and goes no further.

I tried uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling -- nothing works. I even tried reinstalling the earlier version, but it's dead too.

What happened? And how do I fix it?

It could be caused by stuck conversion queue.

You can try the following

Quit Air Video Server
Delete the <your-home-folder>Library/Application Support/AirVideoServer/conversionStatus2 file
Start Air VIdeo Server

Hi,

sorry about it. Here you go:

Open Task manager
kill all AirVideoServer.exe processes
Go to <your-home-folder>\Local Settings\Application Data\AirVideoServer

delete the conversionStatus2 file.

<your-home-folder> is usually in C:\Documents And Settings

b9r2 is giving me choppy audio during live conversion on some (but not all) files. 2.1.7 works fine.

Can you post here a live conversion log for file that has choppy audio? Thanks.

Thanks. It should be fixed in next server update.

Thanks - deleting the conversionStatus2 file solved the problem. Perhaps the installer should delete this file? That way, a user could fix a broken program by reinstalling.

Also, for others reading this thread, the location of the file in Windows 7/Vista is C:\Users\{your user name}\AppData\Local\AirVideoServer

I converted a divx file with srt subtitle. The ffmpeg process was eating more and more
memory until my iMac crashed. It won't happen in 2.1.8-beta6, but always happens in
beta8 and beta9. If no subtitle, every thing is fine.

Can you tell me how much memory (Real Mem in Activity Monitor) did the ffmpeg process consume before it crashes?
