I've bought the Application via App. Store without trying the BETA version due to such wonderful feedback to the program.
Furthermore, I've searched the whole forum for similar problems to mine and the replies which were given none were successful.
I've literally tried -EVERYTHING- that can be done.
I received an iPod Touch 8 GB for X-Mas, tried disabling the firewall and still it did not help.
I even tried the PIN/PORT which is for Internet use only but still didn't help.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time,
- Xuquan.
P.S.
Operating System: Vista - Vista Rating: 5.9 - Quad Core, 4 GB RAM etc, so I don't think it's something to do with the PC's spec.

Hi,
did you go through the troubleshooting?
http://www.inmethod.com/air-video/connection-problems.html
What Air Video Server do you use? Did you try the latest beta?
http://www.inmethod.com/forum/posts/list/432.page
(The beta version installer should configure windows firewall to let Air Video Server handle requests)
If you navigate to http://localhost:45631 what response do you get?

Yes I have tried the Troubleshooting that's why I included the part were it told me to disable my firewall.
Regarding the localhost url, it says 'Air Video'
Since the setup I downloaded was 217, I'll try the 218 from the link you've given me.
Thanks for the amazing fast reply... I'll let you know if it worked or not.

Nothing solved, still experiencing the same problem.
'Communication Error, Error occurred while communicating with server: timed out'
>_________>
My Local Internal IP (PC) Address is the same with my iPod Touch IP except for the very last digit, were the PC ends with a .2 and the iPod .3 - does that effect anything?

Do you know your computer's IP address on your local network? (usually starts with 192. or 10.)
You can try navigating to http://<your-computer-ip-address>:45631 in your iPod Touch Safari.
Btw. Can you post here your computer's local IP address and your iPod touch IP address? There might be something wrong with your network configuration.

External IP: **.***.***.2
Local (Internal) IP: ***.***.0.2
iPod's IP: ***.***.0.3
P.S.
I tried: **.***.***.2:45631 on the iPod Safari and the page did not open.
I'm currently trying ***.***.0.3:45631 on the iPod Safari... page is loading...

So, if you open iPod touch safari and navigate to http://192.168.0.2:45631 do you get any response?
If you do, it's a bug in Air Video
if you don't, it's a problem with your network configuration. The most likely explanation is still a firewall blocking the communication. 3rd party firewalls and security tools (kerio, norton internet security, etc) often cause this.

Just opened now unsuccessful saying:
'Cannot Open Page, Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding.'
I've already tried disabling Windows Firewall and ESET NOD32 and I still couldn't get it to work,
I've also confrimed that AirVideo is on the exception list on Windows Firewall... : /
P.S.
I'll re-try disabling both Firewalls and give it another shot.

It worked when I opened NOD 32 ESET and disabled Network Traffic Filter.
Now I need to google on how to add Air Video to the exception list. >__________>
If you know your way around ESET, please let me know how to configure Air Video to its allow list.
Thanks for your help and time,
- Xuquan.
P.S.
May you hide my given IP on your previous post with a few *** and leave this post opened, so it may help future customers with similar problems.

Hi,
you don't need to hide your local IP address (192.168....). That address is local to your network, other customers will probably have same (or very similar addresses). The only address you might be concerned about is your external IP address.

Do you know how I can add Air Video to ESETs exception on its personal firewall?

Ok, I was playing around with the exception list on ESET since it's really complicating especially when I didn't want to mess any Firewall settings...
In the end, I got it working with ESETs personal firewall being activated.
Admin, if you wish for me to post a guide on how-to do this setting on ESET for any future ESET users, let me know.
Once again,
Many thanks...
- Xuquan.

Can you please post this info? I can't figure out how to make it work without disabling the firewall completely. Thanks!

When I try to download the required server to my ipod, Safari won't allow it so I take it I can not use Air Video on my 32g Ipod.

The server needs to be installed on your computer (not the iPod)
