The Air Video server used to start on my machine (Windows 7 64 bit), but now whenever the server is started it says "Server Not Running". When I go into the server and click "start server" NOTHING happens. This happens on both the 2.4.5 beta 7 and the current "release" version. Tried the uninstall reboot reinstall too.
The only log that seems to have relevant info is the remote support log:
2012-01-15 09:27:28 StatusReportAction: Scheduling task StatusReportAction$2 (30810736)
2012-01-15 09:27:58 PortMapperAction: Scheduling task PortMapperAction$2 (6426875)
2012-01-15 09:27:58 StatusReportAction: Scheduling task StatusReportAction$2 (4779445)
What next to troubleshoot?
Regards,
Paul

Do you have any 3rd party firewall software installed? Something seems to be preventing Air Video Server from listing on its port.

syedshahid please don't hijack this thread. Your problem is not related to the original post. If you have problem with remote connection send the remote support log to support (at) inmethod.com

Hi,
I have the same problem.
I'm using windows 7 32 Bit.
I also see the "Start Server" button and nothing happen when i press on it.
I tried to uninstall it and also to delete everything from program files and user data and to reinstall it and still nothing happens.
I also look on the previous post in this forum and didn't find any answer to my problem.
I'm using version 2.4.3
Thanks.
Shai.

I've only seen behavior like this with 3rd party firewall being installed that actively prevented Air Video Server from listening on its port (hence nothing happens when you click "Start Connection"). I've only seen this with a firewall that hasn't been uninstalled properly (and still left some system hooks).

fayeharriet, your issue might be different, is there any chance you have lot of fonts installed?

I was using Microsoft Security Essentials as my Antivirus. I removed it. I turned of the windows firewall. I removed Air Video Server. Then re installed air video server. Still exactly the same. The server will not start. There is no other virus software installed. Now what?

Neither security essentials or windows firewall should cause this. Did you have any other firewall software installed in past?

Although the computer may have come with a trial version of McAfee, I would have uninstalled that as soon as I could.
Also, the Air Video server USED to work on this machine. I know you want to know what I might have changed between when it worked and now but I can't think of anything.
Is there some log I can send you that might give you a clue as to what is going on?
Thanks,
Paul

If you disable "Access from internet", restart Air Video Server and click "Start Server" still nothing happens? I'm afraid there is no log for this. Also, have you tried changing the default port in Air Video Server properties?

I do not have the internet access enabled. I have tried a number of ports with the same result. What now?

This might be a long shot but it is worth trying to completely reinstall the JRE (32 bit version)
