Some questions about remote access

So having browsed some of the existing threads, this is what I've gather concerning playing videos over the internet:

1. As of now, the only way to do this is by specifying the IP address of the server computer. Unfortunately, for many of us with dynamic IP's that change daily, this presents a problem.

2. The other method is by entering the server PIN into the application, a feature that will come in an update that has yet to be approved by Apple.

Is this information correct?

Indeed this is correct. Third option is to use service like dyndns.
