Hey..

I have a problem with playing any kind of movie, when i hit play it will ofc buff for a little while, when its done, the movie will be played for about 30-50 secs, then it will pause and start buffering again, its pretty annoying... And it keeps on going like that to the movie is finished. And my friend with the same phone on the same server and the same movie doesn't have any problems at all, he can just hit play and then he can watch the movie from start to end with no stops..
Does anyone have an idea of what this could be ?
It would be great if i could get it solved so i could watch some movies

Best Regards Zodika

Does this happen on local network or over 3g? (or remote wifi?)

Well, yes, but what are your network conditions? Are you on same network as Air Video Server? Or are you connecting over 3g?

Well, the problem might be your 3G download speed (or your home upload speed).

Hello,
I have a similar problem with AirVideo client v.2.1.2 and 2.2.0, and latest server app.
Every movie I play (except for very short ones, under 20 secs) are played for 10 seconds, then playback pauses and starts buffering.
After buffering is done, there are 2 scenarios of what happens next, for every file is different:
1. file resumes to play from position 0:10, plays until the end without problems
2. file restarts playing from 0:00 (but time shown by the app is still 0:10 and counting), plays ok until 10 seconds of file are left, last 10 seconds only sound is played.
2nd scenario happened more frequently with server version 2.23 and 2.25beta installed; with v.2.24, it plays as 1st scenario.
For now, I've downgraded client to version 2.1.1 and it plays without any problems, without stopping at 0:10. But I'm looking forward for you to fix this, hopefully

Are you playing over 3G or WiFi? Local network or remote connection?

Can you go to Connection Settings -> Global Connection Settings and disable all bitrates except 1.5mbit/s?

OK, I'll try it. I really thought it's related to connection speed auto-selection

Alternatively if you still get buffering delays it might mean that your network can not sustain 1.5mbit/s transfer so you can try lower bitrates too (always one at a time)

Maybe I am a little slow but I can not find these bit rate adjustments. Are they on the server or the client? And where at? I have a DSL and it is 512MB up and 7 Download so I need to change those bit rates.

Adjustments are on client. Go to video file -> Conversion Settings -> Global conversion settings. You should be able to see the bitrates there. However on 512k upload line Air Video should work without any adjustments (if the bandwidth is available). Btw. this will only work with live conversion.
