I love airvideo it's my favourite app, but I am struggling getting it to work over 3g.

I keep getting the double NAT error message.

My problem is that I know airvideo works over 3g with my router because I had it working a few days ago but I just can't remember what I did on my router for it to work. I was in the 192.168.2.1 address in my web browser for my router configuring the settings, next thing I know the address no longer worked in the browser but then my airvideo over 3g was working and there was no longer a double NAT error message. Also I also noticed when I was using ftp during the time that airserver could connect to 3g, my ftp ip address now started with 10. and not the 192. as in previous instances. Maybe this is my DNS or WAN IP address that I had accidently changed it to?

I decided to reconfigure my router because I could no longer go to the router address 192.168.2.1 to change any of the router settings. When I reset the router, my airvideo no longer worked over 3g.

I have tried all the settings again in my router like enabling and dissabling uPnP and also opeing the port 45631 in my router, nothing seems to work. I'm thinking maybe I had done somethign to the LAN address like changing it to the DNS or WAN IP address(IP starting with 10).

Can you please help me as Airvideo is one of the coolest apps and i'd love to get it to work over 3g again. I recomend this app to heaps of people but its hard to show people what it is if i cant connect over 3g.

What other router(s) / modem(s) do you have on your network?

I only have one Modem and the one router. That's why it's odd that I am getting a nat double error message when I click on the 'automatically map port' box.

I have installed orblive so that I can record my tv stations and that works fine over 3g. I then use airvideo to watch what I have recorded. No idea
why airvideo doesn't work over 3g for me. I have turned off firewalls, enabled dmz, open port to 45631. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

What kind of modem are you using? It's likely that the modem is also a router, and has NAT enabled. You can't have NAT enabled for both the modem and router.

The modem I am using is a siemons speedstream 4200.

The weird thing is the other day when I was fiddling with my router settings and all of a sudden the router address no longer worked in the web browser, airvideo instantly worked over the 3g. I just can't remember what I did and can't replicate what I did.

How do I dissable NAT on the modem if it also has NAT enabled?

You can't disable NAT on the modem. You need to disable NAT on the router (you need to switch the router to bridged mode if it supports it). What router type do you have?

There are two possible valid configurations with your setup:
1) NAT enabled on router and modem connected to router using PPPoE protocol
2) NAT disabled on router, NAT enabled on modem

The first one can be tricky to configure, also not all ISPs support that
The second one could be what you had configured while Air Video worked for you over 3g

Keep in mind that I only have very scarse information about your network, so these are more or less guesses.

My router is a Belkin N300

How do I dissable NAT on the router and switch it to bridge mode? I can't remember what I did the other day but it was a simple thing ont he router that got it to work, now I just cant remember. I can't remember if it was in the LAN settings or the WAN settings of the router.

I couldn't find N300 in Belkin portfolio.
I don't know what setting are you looking for.
If you want to disable NAT/DHCP (to switch router in bridged mode, if it supports it) it will be in LAN settings.
If you want to configure the router to use PPPoE mode to connect to the modem, it will be in WAN settings.

Ok in my LAN settings there are these options:

LAN > LAN Settings

You can make changes to the Local Area Network (LAN) here. For changes to take effect, you must press the "Apply Changes" button at the bottom of the screen.

IP Address

Subnet Mask

DHCP server on or off

In my WAN settings there is an option for:

Wireless > Use as an Access Point

ADVANCED FEATURE! The Router can be configured to act as strictly an Access Point, bypassing all of the routing and firewall functions. To do so, select "Enable" and type in the IP address you want the Access Point to have.

There is also a PPPoe option for connection type but it says this:

PPPoE
If you use a DSL modem and/or your ISP gave you a User Name and Password, then your connection type is PPPoE. Use this connection type.

My static IP address begins with 10 so do I need to somehow get ridd of the 192 IP address?

One more thing, when I disconnect my router and just plug in the computer to the modem without the router, airvideo works over 3g.

It's just when the router is connected I can't get it to connect via 3g again. No idea how to bridge the two.

What do you mean by static IP address? Where is it configured?

Have you tried to enable the Wireless > Use as an Access Point feature? It seems like it should turn the router into a bridged mode.

I think you are right I think the access point feature is what I used to get it working over 3g the first time. Problem is, I don't know what IP address to enter in. I try the WAN and Default gateway IP addresses but it isn't working.

The good thing is if I leave home I can disconnect my router and directly plug my computer to the modem so that I can still atleast use the 3g feature.

I will still try to get it to work with the router over 3. I am very happy with Airvideo and will be recommending it to my friends.

I will add some suggestions in the other section of the forum for new features that could be used for future Airvideo updates. Great application.

Thanks for your help and great customer service.

Where exactly are you trying to enter the IP address?

In the access point feature, if you enable it it asks for a IP address. When I put in the IP address the router address in the browser no longer works. Problem is if I put in one of the IP addresses that starts with 10 it makes the internet not work at all.

I see. That's rather weird. It shouldn't ask for IP address. Ideally the router should just act as a bridge. Let the DHCP server from your modem assign IP addresses.
