Hi,

I need your help. I'm not an IT specialist, but nor am I completely useless with computers. I've already successfully set up a couple of Air Video networks over wifi; but everything I'm trying now doesn't seem to work... so please help me out !

I use a modem Huawei Wifi HG530 (maybe the problem is that it may not be a router [I don't know if it is or not] ?)
I use Air video v2.4.3 on my laptop.

I could be wrong but I think that Airvideo needs UPnP which my modem says is "ENABLED"

However, when I enable internet connection on AirVideo (just to check, because I only need wifi setup), and check "automatically map ports", it says that "No UPnP or NAT-PMP compatible device was found".

On my Ipad, the result is always the same. It doesn't detect the new Air Video Server... same result when I enter IP address manually or when enter the PIN (with internet enabled)

Many thanks in advance for your help

Hi,

if you having trouble connecting over local network it doesn't matter whether UPnP works or not. It is only relevant for remote access. If the client doesn't see the server it means Apple Bonjour is not working properly on your network. Do you have any 3rd party firewall or other security software installed?

Hi again,

I think the problem is indeed with Bonjour.

I already had Bonjour Installed and also Itunes.
What I did after your message : I unistalled all apple related software (I'm using windows 7), download from apple.com the latest itunes soft and installed it fresh.

I checked that Bonjour got installed properly (and it did).

However, and even after restarting the PC, when i check the running processes, I don't see "Bonjour Service" running (Unless they've changed the name of the process ? )... and still have no air video server on my Ipad.

Any idea on what to do from here ?

many thanks

If Bonjour doesn't run you should still be able to connect using Server PIN (it will resolve your computer's IP address instead of bonjour). If Server PIN gives you connection errors as well than it means either your router not behaving nice or a firewall software on computer blocking the connection.

In the Subject of your post it says "I can't make AirVideo Work over Wifi", then you start by saying:

nikos333 wrote:I've already successfully set up a couple of Air Video networks over wifi; but everything I'm trying now doesn't seem to work

Is Air Video working okay with local WiFi network connections but not connecting over the internet? Or maybe you've set it up on different WiFi networks?

I use a modem Huawei Wifi HG530 (maybe the problem is that it may not be a router [I don't know if it is or not] ?)

It's a combination modem+router, which this and other companies refer to as a "Wireless Home Gateway" or similar. There's product information here:

HUAWEI HG530 - Huawei Device Co., Ltd..

However, when I enable internet connection on AirVideo (just to check, because I only need wifi setup), and check "automatically map ports", it says that "No UPnP or NAT-PMP compatible device was found".

If you only need to use AV on your local WiFi network it's unclear to me why you care about internet usage.

and even after restarting the PC

Did you also restart the HG530 gateway?

I'd like to offer you more help with this but am confused about what is/isn't working relative to your specific needs.

Air Video 2.4.13 (iPad 2, iPhone 3GS [iOS 6.1.3]), Air Video Server 2.4.6-beta3u2 (Mac mini [Early 2009, OS X 10.8.4]), 802.11g/n WLAN
