I too would like to add my support for an android version. I've bought the iOS version for my iPod and love it. My Samsung Vibrant has a larger screen so it would be awesome to be able to use that instead of the iPod touch! Have the devs even responded as to whether or not they are working on an android version?

just wanted to give this thread a bump to see if the developers have heard anything back from nexstreaming about there nexplayer sdk

i also read that adobe air supposedly supports live http streaming might be good to sign up with them to play around with the adobe air sdk if things don't pan out with nexstreaming

Is the nexplayer sdk the only option? There's an open source app available for android called gmote (http://code.google.com/p/gmote/) which streams mp4s just fine over wifi and 3G. The only problem is that the server doesn't do on the fly transcoding. Maybe you can take a look how they do the streaming aspect and just incorporate into the airvideo server and client for android? If there's a problem using their code I suppose you could contact them and set up an agreement?

Dear Admin, Adobe just release Adobe air for Android 2.2
This would help you building the air video platform for android users?

Hello everyone,

I just made an account here to share with you my discovery: It is called AndroStream. I tested it just now and after finishing this post I am going to buy it ! It is exactly what AirVideo does: Stream Anything VLC plays to your Android Powered mobile device (FroYo suggested by them... I have Eclair and works flawlessly). Here you have the official website... the program is on Androdi Market (AndroStream Free/Pro - 2 min limit on free version).

http://androstream.mydedibox.fr/

I played an avi and also a 720p mkv, both worked perfect, even subtitle was on.

I am waiting for your feedback about this.

hopefully they will take your advice and look into an air app that might possible put them in to motion of making an app that works on systems that can run adobe air also (windows and mac) so people can stream over an network connection or wifi on there laptop or desktop

nice find doesn't look as polished as airvideo for ios but it seems like it will fit the bill till air video gets something going

Please please please make an android version of this. This is one of the best apps ever made. I loved it on my iPhone but switched to the evo and really need air video!! I'd gladly pay mucho dinero for it.

But we might have to place our hopes on Zumocast. They have announces via Twitter that an android version of zumocast is in the works but no eta.

I Like air video and haven't used zumocast, but air video is missing a huge opportunity if they don't go forward with android support.

hey haven't came to check up on the status of an android app yet just wondering if you all had any success yet?
have you all taken a look at possibly using adobe air?
that would give you possibly the ability to build an app for the android devices (froyo 2.2) and also build out a desktop application that will work across windows, mac and linux which i know users have also been requesting (desktop application) multiple platforms and even possibly the new blackberry os probably with some minor tweaks

hope progress is coming along

I'm yet another "registered-just-to-get-Android-support" guy. Air Video rocks on my wife's iPad and I'd really like to see it work on the Android Archos 101, esp with HDMI to my 60" plasma!!!

I have been using AirVideo on my old iPhone. Now I've bought a Nexus One and would very much like to keep using AirVideo on my new Android phone. Looking forward to Android support.
