Hi all,

Is it possible to watch a video played via Air Video client on a TV using Apple's Component AV cables?

Thanks

Its not working for me at all for the live conversion stream playing. I am currently doing the conversion and will see if it works that way. Any tips would be much appreciated! it seemed like a perfect app for me if this works. On another note, i am looking to get a wireless cam to use as a baby monitor (so it must have sound). Do you guys recommend a certain way to do this so it would work with air video? maybe a recommendation on a set up?

Sorry for all the questions! I love technology but typically struggle with the follow through to set up due to my own ignorance on the subject.

AirVideo's TV Out is not currently working on OS 4. There is a long thread about this in the Problems & Solutions forum. This is the main reason I chose not to update my OS and went the JB route instead.

What resolution does Air Video output? I'm considering buying the iPad Dock to VGA adaptor, but if Air Video won't push 1280x720, there's little point.

Cheers.

According to the apple website the output is limited to 480p.

I just found this in the iPad specs:
http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/

Support for 1024 by 768 pixels with Dock Connector to VGA Adapter; 576p and 480p with Apple Component AV Cable; 576i and 480i with Apple Composite AV Cable

So it looks like the VGA connector does put out 1024x768...Not quite what you wanted.

Hope this helps,
Tim

I've no idea why they don't publicise its ability to output 1280x720. It's been mentioned on various sites, and the Simulator allows 1280x720 TV-Out to be tested, too.

Any idea if the current IOS and Air Video will output video and audio over the Apple 30-pin to Component + Audio cable, on an iPad?

Bit the bullet and bought one - it works. However I can't find any control over screen resolution and interlace/progressive.

Anyone know if it's possible to specify 480i/576i, rather than the 480p that I assume it does by default? Not possible over the Component cable, only Composite??
