I'm pleased to announce that new Air Video Server version is available.
You can download it for Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows.
This release contains improved iTunes support. Adding playlists should work now with iTunes 9.1 and iTunes launch is no longer required during browsing.
Improvements since beta1:
* iTunes libraries in non-standard locations should work
* Workaround for Bonjour update warning

Crashes during launching on both my systems (iMac G5 and Mac mini); 2.2.6-beta1 runs fine. I'll send PM of crash logs later.

The problem seems to be caused by new xcode version. I think I can reproduce it on OS X 10.5.

Confirmed that 2.2.6-beta2u1 launches on both my systems without crashing. No time to do further testing.

I wish Air Video Server for Windows had an auto-update feature. This would make it a lot better.

This is a great product! I love it. I have recommended it to so many people.
Simple to use and simple to setup.
Guys keep up the good work.
I can confirm that it newest beta works fine on a MacPro running 10.6.3.
I have no problems connecting via either iPad, or either iPhones.
My system is fully patched and current with Apple OS releases.

Just got this after installation (Windows Vista):
And then I got an update for Java, but after hitting the update button, it said I already had the newest version, would I like to re-install it?

I LOVE THIS APP!!!
I'm just another user of another great app for a great piece of hardware in the history of history, and this is history in the making. |

You might want to completely uninstall and install Air Video Server first. Make sure AirVideoServer.exe process is not running in task manager.
If it doesn't help, you can try to reinstall java.

Ok, I re-installed Java to the newest version, and I also uninstalled and re-installed Air Video, and still getting the same error message.
Where do I find the crash logs? In the Logs tab? Which drop-down menu option?

There is no crashlog for this I'm afraid. Everything related is in the error window. There is one more thing you can try.
1. Make sure there are no Air Video Server processes
2. Delete folder C:\jexepackres . If the folder isn't there please let me know.
3. Restart the computer
Btw. What exactly triggered this behavior? Just Air Video Server update? I just tried it on Windows Vista with latest JRE and wasn't able to reproduce the problem.

It was all fine before, but then 2 nights ago, I noticed an update was available when I came back to this site, and so just now, I remembered to update. After the update, I clicked finish (with the box checked to run air video) and the error box came up all of a sudden. Air Video also comes up (I have not tried to use the air video app yet to see if it still works).
So to answer your question, yes. The update caused it.
