Maybe in future releases but we must make sure it doesn't clutter the user interface too much. There is only so much you can put on iPhone screen.

true, no-one wants ui interface bloat.
but you also want to give the consume control over the use of their app.
additional preferences in the settings app for air video would work out nicely.

I don't care about search, but I would like to be able to set the list order so I can see what videos are new. (and I ned to be able to set the search for lists of folders too, not just for lists of videos since my TV shows are sorted into folders).
There are two things I would really like:
1) be able to change the '30 second' back to something else. 30 seconds is almost always way too long. 10 seconds or even 5 would be great.
2) Be able to add a 'skip forward' in addition to the skip back.

Choosing which "consumer control" and "additional preferences" to implement can be a challenging, ongoing issue. It doesn't always "work out nicely".

The buttons are part of iPhone Media Player, we can not really change the function (unless we'd use undocumented method which is not allowed).

OK, then why is there not a back-30 button in the YouTube player? and where's the 2x speed button?
Still let us sort on date modified.
OH, one more thing, if the options for starting playback are only "Frome Beginning" and "Cancel" could we PLEASE skip that extra step and just play the video?

Youtube player is a custom version of iPhone media player. It's a native Apple application, it's not bound by the rules Air Video is.
I agree with hiding play from beginning and cancel though, should be implemented in next Air Video update.

Display off if one switches on the large television looks. Accusing because of my English.

I would like to see these features personally:
1) Be able to turn off the screen while playing to the TV
2) Be able to type in the desired seek position
3) Be able to play all movies in a folder in sequential order starting from the selected movie
4) Better support for converting AVIs live. (I seem to have no issues with 14 GB MKVs, but with 175 MB AVIs it will stop working after awhile)
5) Have the option for "album" viewing.
-- When the device is turned horizontally, have the option to allow preview images with the file name underneath like the one in "iPod" mode or in "Pandora."
6) Have an option that allows parsing of file names based off of certain keys.
-- For example: "Family Guy [1.01] Episode Name" has 4 parts to it.
-- "%%TV_Show%% [%%Season_Number%%.%%Episode_Number%%] %%Episode_Name%%"
-- Other formats could be used, it just needs to be specified by the user.
-- Folders could contain a text file (or similar) to contain information about the current folder. This could be read by the server and achieve better "virtual" organization of files.
-- For instance, a file could contain information saying that the current folder is a TV series, the TV series is called "blah," and that the file naming format is "blah."
-- This could be taken apart and the information displayed cleanly on the screen. For example, using the option from number 5, this information could be placed strategically under the preview image.
That is about all that I could think of right now.

Yea, I have the latest beta. On some files, or after playing videos for at least half and hour, it just starts to stop playing the video and constantly buffer. But when I click pause, then click play, it will start to play again; however, only for a few seconds.
Also, it seems to have issues with some files. The sound will stop and then come back on, but be way off.

It would be cool if you could do a conversion and then set it to sync to the iPhone over the air through wi-fi, maybe even a queue, so that if you go off 3g and wi-fi you can still get to some of the movies.
Also allow multiple server streams. For instance I would like to share one stream with my friends and have a private stream for just me and my wife. Passwording folders could make this work but I would rather not even show the video to my friends. Or maybe implement user authentication so I can set ACLs to the directories. Then I could give my friends a user name and password to my public videos and my family videos can stay within the family. Heck, apple my need to pay you, if you add that feature because several people I know would switch to iphones....

I am joining! Shutdown ability would be really fine!
And if it's possible, switching between subtitles and/or audio streams while playing, or enable/disable at least!
Sort titles by date, not just abc.
Find title (in all shared folders).
BTW It's a the best streaming software!
Thanks!
