Hi,

the most likely problem is that the wifi at local public library is too restricted. Air Video uses custom ports for communications which the WiFi blocks.

Odd. Local Wifi works beautifully. however, remote wifi will connect and see everything on my PC but I can't get anything to play. I tried converting and lowering the bit rates but it just hangs there. It will convert it and everything- just won't seem to play it. Can this be a port fwd issue? I'm assuming that since I can see and access my server , it doesn't need configuring. Any ideas?

Thanks.

sonn wrote:Hey Admin. Having provlems playing videos on ipad.. I have the server running on my computer and my Remote status is "ok". I test connection and everything is ok. I can connect to the videos folder with my ipad and i can see the videos, but when i press "play with live conversion", it loads the video, but then nothing happens. it doesn't play the video.. i press the button again and the same thing happens.. I've followed all port forwarding guides and everything should be fine with the connection. again, status is "ok". i'm using wifi on windows 7.. any help is appreciated.

btw, I've tried many different videos so it shouldn't be a problem with the videos

RESOLVED:

alright, just an update. I figured out that ffmpeg was crashing on my computer, which was kinda odd. So i uninstalled the air video server and downloaded it again, installed it, and now it's working fine. Sweet!

btw, for people here having the "No UPnP or NAT-PMP compatible device" problem even after setting up the port forwarding, make sure you uncheck "automatically map port" in remote tab option... kinda obvious, but worth a mention

Bleh, missed this post. I will try this.

I have a Thomson TWG850-4U cable-modem, I went to the modem through my browser, http://192.168.0.1 and I enabled UPnP Enable in the advandced settings of Gateway and it works fine!

----------------

My problem it's just the opposite, works fine over 3G and external wifi but in my home wifi doesn't find the server.

I tried PIN and also direct IP.

Test with iPhone and iPad.

Air Video server works over Mac Snow Leopard 10.6.4

Thx in advance.

Did you enable UPnP in the advandced settings of Gateway of your router/modem? That made it work for me. And you must go to the router preferences and enable Automaticly Map Port.

If it is grey you must enable UPnP first. It works great with a cable to your tv, iPhone becomes a sort of media player.

And did you set your sharing preferences ion your Mac to allow external login?

Good luck!

FAIL

Hi, I have air video, and iphone 4 on o2, and and iPad with a vodafone sim. It works fine on all devices over wifi, and works fine remotely on vodafone 3g (i have access to both an ipad & iphone on vodafone), but on my o2 3g it cannot resolve the address?
Does anyone know if o2 is blocking certain ports, or perhaps is it another problem?
