Maybe you can work together with the AirVideo developer for future releases.

I can confirm this, while playing there is no screen rotation anymore.

I test it with various files and resolutions and the default settings on the iPhone.

Sometimes I notice that the G3 connection has different quality and the bandwidth is lower, although the signal strength is good.

In this case you can play on your iPhone with the conversion settings:
* decrease Target Resolution
* decrease Video Quality

This site is in german, but i think it gives you an provider and client overview. Kostenlos means free of charge.

So you can take a look at the websites to find a client for you. Maybe there are equal summaries at another english site.

You have to refresh the IP-Address at your dynamic DNS service. Some router have such function to do this automatically. If not, you can use an application for this (search@google)

In the root directory on my iPhone I see:

* Movies
* Filme
* Podcast
* movie

It's a mix of my hdd, network drive and iTunes. From the naming not really logical and memorable.

Maybe you can add some information like this:

* Movie
* Filme (iTunes)
* Podcast (iTunes)
* movie

Or even better: An additional description field for the shared folder in the server application, which displays the description in brackets after the folder name.

Streaming over 3G works here for me. IP changes, I use dyndns.org, are not cached by my iPhone.

No problem

When 15 ffmpeg processes scan that file over wifi ... no way...

I test some things: Kill all ffmpeg processes while I'm in the movie view (still loading there), got an client error. go back to the table view. Filename becomes invalid sign now, but its starts an ffmpeg process on my mac ... only one. Then I select the file, I now got the normal View (without thumb) with invalid text and can't play back ... timeout error after some time.

After some minutes and client restart on my iPhone... surprise ... there is an fresh icon there. Select it, start playback... and it works

So only the procedure to generate the thumbs is the problem here...

In the directory is only the test file. so Air Video/ffmpeg have only to scan this one.

I'm testing some things and send you the log...
