Updated.

Thanks!
Is there an updated JAR for Linux servers? I didn't see an update posted here: http://www.inmethod.com/forum/posts/list/1856.page
I thought Airplay was going to be a 4.2 addition. I'd expect there would be an associated update for the new Apple TV, since it is also running iOS.
Isn't 2.4.2 a server version? Not a client version? Is there a linux version of 2.4.2?

I don't see a 2.4.2 client in iTunes.
Air Video is a universal app, meaning it runs the same code on iPhones and iPads. The 2.4 client on my iPhone works with Alpha 4, so I don't see why it wouldn't work with your iPad.

Do you get any errors on the server or iPad?
I agree with not allowing delete. The last thing I want is an exploit to delete my library. Better safe than sorry.
Can we pin this thread? It may cut down on all the other threads made by people who can't search.
Where is it's cache/config setting?
Is there a cache for the linux version? It seems like the images get created every time they are accessed.
I have it working with alpha4 http://www.inmethod.com/forum/posts/list/1856.page
I know your current system uses straight directory listings for file types.

It would be great if it could attach to other Meta Libraries to get the file names & descriptions.

Plex (http://www.plexapp.com/) -- MacOS media library, with an HTTP library. The latest version has a server that can be polled.
MythTV (http://www.mythtv.org/) -- Open Source PVR.

Both projects are open source.
If Apple does expose the AirPlay feature to any player in iOS then this shouldn't be outside the realm of possibilities.

Except in their scenario, you have data on iPad/iPhone/iTouch >> iTV.

In the case of airvideo, you would have data on PC/Mac >> iPad/iPhone/iTouch >> iTV.

Your iPad/iPhone/iTouch turns into a relay.
I'm currently using the component cable with my iPad and it works fine.
I updated yesterday and had no problems playing back to the TV.

In fact without a fix for iOS 4 tv playback, I'll keep my iPad at the 3.x level.
Personally I wouldn't want to run the risk that a bug or exploit could wipe out my library.
