Hello,
is there a chance to see this (see screenshot) added to AirVideo?
OK, I'll try it. I really thought it's related to connection speed auto-selection
Local, as much local as ir gets
Hello,
I have a similar problem with AirVideo client v.2.1.2 and 2.2.0, and latest server app.
Every movie I play (except for very short ones, under 20 secs) are played for 10 seconds, then playback pauses and starts buffering.
After buffering is done, there are 2 scenarios of what happens next, for every file is different:
1. file resumes to play from position 0:10, plays until the end without problems
2. file restarts playing from 0:00 (but time shown by the app is still 0:10 and counting), plays ok until 10 seconds of file are left, last 10 seconds only sound is played.
2nd scenario happened more frequently with server version 2.23 and 2.25beta installed; with v.2.24, it plays as 1st scenario.
For now, I've downgraded client to version 2.1.1 and it plays without any problems, without stopping at 0:10. But I'm looking forward for you to fix this, hopefully
What I propose is to disable refresh of file list when going out of opened item page - when you go back, the list already is loaded, but then it's forced to refresh. Basically, imagine the situation:
1. You're done with watching some video, and you want to watch another one from the same folder.
2. You press back button. The file list appears.
3. Now, for about 1/2 sec., you can select the desired file from the list (if you're fast enough). If you're not, the list starts refreshing, and the app is unresponsive for some time. You have to wait until it's finished reloading before you can select other file.
As for navigating through folders, there's no need to disable refresh, of course.
The argument against reloading, at least for me, is that while I'm using AirVideo, I don't touch my PC, so nothing changes in file list during that time. If I'm confident that there was a change, I can use refresh button.
I have iPodTouch 1G; latest OS version. As for file numbers - I just tried the folder with ~10 files in it, and even there, freezing occur, and it's about 2 seconds long. And in another folder, where I have 690 files (all videos), every reloading is a disaster
Hello.
I see, there already has been a topic about problems with navigating through large folders. I don't have any problems with server side, but every time I exit to the file list from file description page, the file list seem to reload automatically (I can see it by unactive "Reload" button), and during this time the client freezes. In large folders, this reloading takes more than 10 seconds, all this time the client app is frozen.
The question is - can you add an option to disable these automatic reloads?
Sorry, doublepost again
Hello,
here's the bug:
I started a playback with live conversion and accidentally locked the phone (in fact, I wanted to take a screenshot because I'm writing a review of this app, but that's another story ). When I unlocked it, the following happened:
- the video kept playing, but with no sound;
- the on-screen player control showed the "play" button, as if the video was paused;
- this "play" button didn't seem to work though; when I pressed "done" to get out of the playback window, it worked, but only after a few seconds. I thought the app was about to crash; luckily, it didn't
- when I selected the same file again, the app prompted me to resume playback from last position, and that last position was when I locked the phone last time, and not when I pressed "done" - seems that the app really thought the video was paused at that point.
So, basically the problem was, the app doesn't stop the live stream properly when the phone is being locked. Hope you can fix it.

oh, really, it's finally up on iTunes! Congrats on that
Yea. Very funny...
You can:
1) change its name back (if you have admin rights on that PC);
2) add the comp by manually entering PC's IP address into iPhone app. Then, it will be visible in the list as IP instead of PC's name
A manual on how to do "what"? Specify and maybe I could make it
It's in iPhone "Preferences" app
I believe the adress "makintosh.local" won't work when you're trying to connect from the internet. You have to find out your computer's IP adress (to do it, try www.whatismyip.com , for example) and add it into server list on the iPhone
Well, yes, there is somenting not completely right with these 2 channels from which these recordings are being made. They have 1 or 2 empty audio streams - e.g. the language is displayed in the list, but there's no audio stream on that PID. It's a DVB issue and I'm trying to resolve it with my DVB provider, but they won't fix it (at least yet)
Hello again,
yes, I have tried the latest server app but with no luck, and I'll see what a client update brings us
Please try this file - I've double-checked it, and it really won't play no matter how I try.
