Just in case anyone else wants to use this on a CentOS/Redhat based system and use an init script rather than running the command by hand:

1) Install the attached script into /etc/rc.d/init.d/airvideo
2) Edit /etc/rc.d/init.d/airvideo and set PREFIX_DIR to the folder that contains AirVideoServerLinux.jar and test.properties
3) Execute the following command (as root):


The script is now installed, and set to start on runlevels 2345. Now to start the service you can simply type:


And to stop:
