Hi,
any chance you would have a small (<20MB) file that Air Video refuses to play that you could email me? Or maybe upload the file somewhere if it is bigger? If so send me a private message.

We plan a bugfix update soon but we're waiting for a codesign certificate.

Hi,
sorry, we can't make conversion work on tiger. However streaming should still work as long as your video files are playable on iPhone. Even if we made conversion possible on tiger it wouldn't make any difference in your case. Your iBook is way too slow to perform live conversion.

Just need to point out that the CPU in Syntology NAS would be nowhere near powerful enough to perform live conversion.

Sometimes when you have manually forwarded port on a router and then forward more ports through UPnP it can confuse it a bit. Perhaps this was your case. If not, worst case scenario, you can still forward all ports manually.

If automated port mapping is causing the issue (which i really don't see why) you can always turn it off and use manual port mapping if that works fine for you. It might be a glitch in your router's UPnP implementation. Plenty of routers have some unfortunately.

i already addressed the error in my previous post. The error is to be expected. It happens because your router doesn't support NAT-PMP. NAT-PMP is technology similar to UPnP but created by Apple and used by Apple Airport routers. That error is completely normal and happens with all network without Airport router.
So you can ignore the line with response error -5. Everyeone gets the error unless they have Airport router with NAT-PMP enabled.
As for the port mapping, Air Video asked your router to provide list of port mappings. The list is written to log, you can take a look. One entry in the list maps port 45631 from your router to your computer. Air Video Server sees this entry so it doesn't attempt to remap the port. Perhaps if you disabled automapted port mapping (which causes air video server remove the mapping) and reenable it again it would work (just a guess).

Hi,
the log is as good as it gets.
NAT-PMP Port Mapper: - response error -5 - recvfrom() failed. NAT-PMP is NOT supported.
that means your router doesn't support NAT-PMP, which is correct. NAT-PMP is only supported by Apple AirPort routers.
From the log it is apparent that router has already mapping for your computer defined
45631 -> 192.168.1.107:45631 (TCP) AirVideoServer
thus Air Video Server doesn't need to map the port.
I'm bit puzzled why it doesn't work. As far as Air Video Server is concerned the port mapping is already there and it reports correct addresses to registry. Are you sure that none of your firewall settings have changed? Can you connect to the machine over local network? Did you install an additional software firewall?

The log looks okay. Have you tried restarting your router? Also shut down and start Air Video Server again to see if it helps. If none of these helps can you quit Air Video Server, start it again and after it's done trying to map port send me the log again?

It looks like some people are having problems downloading the server software after we moved the files to media fire. If that is your case you can download the software from here:
Windows Version
OS X Version

We are going to report this to mediafire support. Can you please send me your IP address as private message? You can find out your IP address here: http://whatismyip.com/
Thanks.

Yes. Bonjour doesn't seem to be working well with your network. Go to Air Video Server properties Remote Tab. Check "Enable Access from Internet" and disable "Automatic Port mapping".
Then in your iPhone software tap + to add new server, Chose "Enter Server Pin" and enter the pin displayed on remote tab.

Hi,
that's really weird. We have recently moved the files to mediafire.
You can download it from previous locations
http://www.inmethod.com/air-video/download/Setup215.exe
http://www.inmethod.com/air-video/download/Air%20Video%20Server%202.1.6.dmg
We will look into it.

You need to check your router's documentation. It's different for every router.

I deleted the app from my iPod & my Mac, then restored them both from backups & all was fine.
I'm not so sure that I like the idea of shutting down my firewall to make the thing work, though. I use a new MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.1.
Hopefully in few weeks (or sooner) we will release Air Video Server update that will work with Snow Leopard firewall enabled. (See http://www.inmethod.com/forum/posts/list/128.page )
Or maybe Apple will fix the bug in firewall that makes it not respect custom policies for applications.
Anyway, most users are running SL without firewall enabled (which is the default setting).
