Admin wrote:Does this happen with latest server beta version?

I am on Linux using beta6.

The server still runs and the client works so I am not in a rush to upgrade.

pdunkley wrote:I've been an Air Video user (running the Windows server) for a long time now. I just got around to trying the Air Video Server for Linux alpha 6 and it works great.

The process of getting this working on my Linux machine (running Fedora 16) was quite involved and I had to find, patch, and manually compile mpeg4ip 1.6.1. Just in case anyone else is in the similar situation I have provided a step-by-step guide for this which includes Avahi (Bonjour/mDNS) configuration and automatic start/stop of the server on system startup/shutdown.

The guide is here: http://www.dunkley.me.uk/2012/04/i-use-excellent-air-video-to-stream-non.html

I hope this proves useful.

good starting point for those of us on ubuntu, but can't be copied 1:1. i had a working server in old ubuntu by on the new 12.04 it is not working for me.
this is a receiver/tv issue. the iphone 4s only outputs 720p video.

check to see if you have an option to specify the input manually and limit it to 720p.
Admin wrote:What operating system are you using?

Windows Home Server SP2 (original, not 2011)
still can't get 2.4.5-beta6u2 to work, i have to remove it and re-install 2.4.5-beta5 for streaming/converting to start working.

4 - Multiple server login accounts/passwords.

I'd really like to have this as I want friends to be able to access the server, but I want each of them to have their own account so I know if they ever give the password out to someone else I can tell that more than one connection is coming from that account in the logs via ip address check.
anyone ever pick up on this? just wondering if it is even possible.

I've used the PC client and that worked well. I just don't have a data plan for my iPhone anymore.
