Help please

Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me?

I was having a nose through my husbands ipad yesterday and I tapped onto his video air icon, as I didn't really know why it was.

Anyway it looked like a video was buffering and then for a couple of seconds a image of a women in the shower came up and then I pressed something and it disappeared, I tried to go back in to it but it had completely gone? For some reason to me it looked like a live feed of some sort. Anyway I have asked him about it and he said he doesn't know what it was and it was probably just a error on air video. Can someone please tell me do these types of errors happen with this app.

Might sound silly I know but it is really getting on my nerves as I don't know what to believe.

Many thanks

MKV and MP4 files crash on iphone 4 (ios5)

I installed airvideo server using rubiojr ppa on a Ubuntu 11.10 server edition.
Suggestion: Test Files for subtitles?

To the Developers:

I think that a pretty easy way to know if the Air Video Server or the Air Video Client is working properly is to include a few test files that can come with the installation download, and maybe can be put up here with links for download as well.

You can have an .mkv for example with embedded subtitles that you know works, so we can download and play them. They really don't have to be big, maybe a minute's worth or less. As long as subtitles are being displayed there.

Subtitles settings

A few questions/suggestions in relation to display of subtitles:

- I know how to change the subtitle font and size in the settings for Air Video Server, but is it also possible to adjust the vertical position? I would the subtitles to be displayed slightly higher in the picture than they currently are.

- There does not seem to be any space between subtitle lines. Please consider adding a few pixels of space, or even allow the user to set the spacing in the settings for Air Video Server.

- I have noticed that the outline of the subtitles often look a bit strange when they are displayed on a light background. It seems to be due to anti-aliasing, softening up the black part of the outline by adding a few very bright extra pixels around the subtitles. An option to toggle anti-aliasing on/off in the settings for Air Video Server would be much appreciated. (I like the outline of the subtitles to be sharp!)

I think the above suggestions would help make the subtitles look closer to how they are "normally" displayed in DVD/BR movies...

Otherwise thanks for a great app :D

AirVideo stopped working on multi homed host

I was using AirVideo just fine with a Mac & iPad.

I added an additional network card to the mac which is now multi homed, i.e. has three IP addresses in three networks (which are not routable which is OK).
Now i can no longer connect to AirVideo server. The app "sees" the server but connect fails.
The mac's networks
192.168.1.250/24 (primary, internet, wlan, this is also where the iPad resides)
192.168.2.250/24 (iscsi 1)
192.168.3.250/24 (iscsi 2)

The app goes "resolving address (bonjour)" then nothing happens and after a while I get a "Could not connect to server".
In Console.app I could not find anything of interest, frankly I don't know where to look for logs for this app.

Air video conflict with splashtop?

I'm back again unfort. I am wondering if anyone has had a conflict when using splashtop remote with air video. I also was using a winamp remote so in reality i had 3 servers on my main computer. I think the problem was after i would use splashtop remote. After that i woulD lose connection and go round in circles again trying to get everything back again. I have removed the other 2servers and so far so good. But thought i would ask if this is possible? Thanks.

Also should i coNsider setting up manual ip address for main computer to avoid issues? Any tips on what to do here would be great too. I love splashtop when i Am away and cant live without air video so would like to use both together if possible.

Higher Bitrate Options?

The current ones available are optimal for viewing on the ipad/iphone, but plugging at Tv shows some degradation compared to the original source...

If you could double the bitrare for 10mbits and also support 1080p out to TV air video would be a really nice way to send video from the computer to the Tv :P
