Air Video Server 2.1.8-beta2 released

I'm pleased to announce that new Air Video Server beta version is available.

You can download it for Mac OS X Leopard and Microsoft Windows.

Improvements in this release:
* Subtitle Support! SRT, SSA, SUB (MicroDVD) formats are supported. Text subtitle track in MKV files are also supported.
* 64bit transcoding on 64bit Macs
* Windows Installer should configure proper rules for all firewall profiles
* Optimized transcoding for multicore CPUs
* More UPnP workarounds for broken routers

Please keep in mind that subtitle support is new. Feedback is very welcome. Also this build DOES NOT SUPPORT PowerPC Macs.
This is a beta version so treat it as such. Things might not work quite as expected
I'm not sure. Are those files referenced from the container? If so, can you play them from their original location? I think this is rather unusual scenario.
I tried both ways:

1) The .AVI and .SRT are embedded in the .MOV container and added to iTunes (final file = 700MB) and subtitles doesn't show on iPhone Air Video player, but shows on iTunes playback.
2) The .AVI and .SRT and only referenced in the .MOV container, but the exact same results (no subtitles) as before.

I use the .MOV container to keep all my movies and TV shows organized in iTunes.

Re:Air Video Server 2.1.8-beta2 released

Hello dear makers of airvideo , I really am happy with this update , since subtitles are what i need the most on this product.

As expected from beta software , there are still quite a lot of quirks , and am thus replying to this thread to add my findings.

I tried 3 anime i had and here are the results , i have included torrents for those series at the bottom of the post , so you can all download those and check for yourself , they are unlicensed fansubbed anime , (recorded japanese tv shows) .

I haven't found a single MKV that played without issues of formating or positioning , or extra formating info that was just displayed as text as of yet. I am sure that will be solved pretty soon and you're all working very hard on it.

My settings:

Clannad after story : quite large formatting info in front of the subtitles is displayed

Eureka 7: positioning info is displayed

Dennou coil : no subtitles to be seen at all

Media in question so you have something to test with:

http://torrents.speedsubs.org/eclipse/%5bSS-Eclipse%5d%20Clannad%20After%20Story%20(1024x576%20h264).torrent
http://dl.btjunkie.org/torrent/G-P-Eureka-Seven/3254055d1d77567d9e50011f7013ddd58bab357f9aad/download.torrent
http://www.mininova.org/get/1545202

Kind regards

Phoenixxl.
